Sustainable Living Armidale – A Transition Initiative (SLA), is a community organisation set up in 2007 to build networks, raise awareness, and inspire and empower the local community to build a more self-reliant, resilient and sustainable future, in the face of climate change and peak oil.

SLA is made up of semi-autonomous groups, each with a specific focus. Groups include: Energy; Armidale Local Food; Transport; Awareness & Education, and Heart & Soul.

SLA is part of the International Transition movement, but operates independently, and is in the process of becoming incorporated as a non-profit community association.

There is a monthly open forum on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at Kent House (141 Faulkner Street, opposite Central Park). Everyone is welcome to attend.
